Suddenly I felt something shaking I thought it was my cousin bouncing up and down on my bed, when suddenly my brother rushed into my bedroom screaming “stop screaming” I said in a angry voice” mum said “kids get under the table now” “why” but anyway I just did, So my brother and I dived under the table and grappled on tightly. Suddenly the ground started to shake again and I heard something grumbling “what was that” I realized it was an earthquake. The books and photos tumbled down the book self and three light bulbs crashed down to the floor I knew it was getting bigger and bigger. My dog started barking as loud as a lion he got scared so he stabbed his jaws into his basket pillow. After a few minutes I counted to ten and my brother and I slowly dragged ourselves to the couches as we both were in a shock. We both hoped that it never ever happened again.

My Earthquake story
Suddenly I felt something shaking I thought it was my cousin bouncing up and down on my bed, when suddenly my brother rushed into my bedroom screaming “stop screaming” I said in a angry voice” mum said “kids get under the table now” “why” but anyway I just did, So my brother and I dived under the table and grappled on tightly. Camp Kaitawa Reflection
Camp Kaitawa
In week 7 it was room 20’s turn to go to camp Kaitawa.
Camp kaitawa was amazing. My favorite part was doing the Lou’s lookout in the dark.
My next favorite things at camp were caving and the master chef day.
I think caving was the best because it was my first time ever going under big rocks.
The best part from caving was seeing weta’s and the glow worms.
I liked the master chef day because it was a fun experience working as a team.
On the way to camp we went to the kiwi enclosure to see a baby kiwi and learn about them. The funny part was when Naz got pooped by a baby kiwi.
The hardest thing was the big walks because it was about 1 hour and 12 minutes, On the way there I had to carry my day back. On the way back I had to carry a life jacket.
The most challenging thing was the amazing race because there were hard and fun activities to do.
The scariest thing was seeing a weta because they had long legs like daddy long legs.
If I could improve something about camp it would be having clean shoes.
I learnt that I can cook and I can help my mum cook tea.
I am excited for the year 6 camp.

The saber tooth fish
A saber tooth fish
Suddenly, right in front of my eyes, was the ugliest fish I’d ever seen. It pounced right out of the water and tried to attack me but luckily I got away from it. His huge sharp teeth were so yucky and yellow, I Wouldn't go near that big slobbery thing, even if he was holding a lolly. His teeth were as sharp as a tiger’s. I started imagining if that fish ate my whole body, then my body would be chopped into little pieces. His skin is brown and so dry he looks like an old man. Earlier that day I saw him hunting his prey, he must have been really hungry. I wondered what, or, how on Earth that creature was real?! After when I got home I looked him up on the internet. I did some research of that fish but I didn't know what to call him, but after seeing his big, long and fearsome teeth. I named him the ‘Saber-Toothed fish. The next day I woke up I decided that i’ll go and see that fish so I quickly got dressed and got my binoculars and my sunhat and sandles and headed out to the beach. I kept on looking for that mysterious fish with my binoculars but I couldn't see him so I went in the water and closer up to the big waves finally I saw him but he wasn't moving so I looked back, but no one was coming so I turned back to see the beast if he was moving but it was too late. He was right in front of me I got scared he looked at me with his mysterious grin on his face it looked like he wanted to eat me but I didn't know what was going on in that fishes head. So I said to him “ do you want me fish” he said nothing I really wanted to know why he was staring at me I didn't know what he wanted so I walked back to the shore he was looking where I was going, I turned back if he was following me but he was disappeared I think he didn't actually want me he was just hungry.
This is the picture of the Saber tooth fish.

My cartouche
Cartouche
We are studying on ancient Egypt and we did cartouches. This is my cartouche which is a nameplate in Egypt its called hieroglyphics. This is what Egyptians use to spell hieroglyphics. Egypt pronounce there word/language differently. Hieroglyphics used to be put on coffins in the mummy tomb. We had to sound out our name and write it down on a piece of paper. My name is spelt like this in hieroglyphics H.A.S.E.M.A.
